A middle aged-man in kebeniti village, soin-sigowet sub county today hacked to death his grandmother and his aunt using a panga before irate members of the public lynched him (suspect) after a long battle with the police.The irate villagers raided a local chief‘s office where the suspect was being held after he was arrested by the administration policemen. The officers fired severally into the air to in abid to scare away the villagers who were baying for the blood of the suspect in the mid-day incident that shocked the entire village.The irate villagers raided the chief‘s office after learning that the officers had ran out of bullets and broke into the office and frog matched the suspect before lynching him .
Intra-community meetings held in Nyakach and Sondu as follow-up activities in an effort to find lasting locally driven peace between the two bordering communities along the Kericho-Kisumu counties along the sondu-nyakach border. 15 representatives from each of the two communities were selected to participate in an Inter-community dialogue forum to be held later in Feb. 2015.
