To my fellow Peace actors, this is the time to move out from our comfort zones and do something to rescue situation in our communities, this days in our community political bases hate speech and exchange of bitter words are now becoming worsened every day.
Several youths were arrested on Thursday 20th November 2014 night in Mombasa when they tried to break into a mosque that was shut by authorities earlier in the week. Police were forced to fire in the air and lob teargas to eject the group of youths who forced their way into Masjid Swafaa mosque in Kisauni for prayers.
Youths wearing army fatigues went on a killing spree, leaving four people dead. The bodies were taken to the Coast General Hospital. In one incident, a pastor who was waiting at a bus stop with four women was accosted by the youths and chopped with machetes. He was cut at the back of the head and hands. He died on the spot. The incident occurred at Bakarani area, Kisauni in Mombasa County.
A secondary school student killed in Simultaneous early morning police raids on two controversial mosques in Mombasa. Police recovered weapons, including grenades and pistols. 251 other suspects were arrested and police claim that among them 24 had recently returned from terror training in Somalia.
One man killed, several others injured in Mombasa following an attack by a violent group of youths protesting the death of a man suspected to be behind terrorist attacks was killed by the mob. The man was said to be on the police terrorist watch-list.
