Yesterday, a retaliatory attack occurred in Mukutani Location, Mukutani Division in Baringo South Sub-County pitting members of the Pokot and the Ilchamus communities. So far, eleven people were confirmed dead while three; including 2 young school going children sustaining fatal bullet wounds and re still recuperating at Kabarnet County Hospital and Nakuru Provincial General Hospital. The situation on the ground remains tense despite the presence of a contingent of RDU forces.

Mandera Bus attack We woke up early this morning to the grim news of yet another bus attack by suspected Al Shabaab at a place between Kotulo and Dimu locations in Mandera South. This is approximately 280 kms from Mandera town. There are reports of two fatalities and several injuries.

Six Swedish nationals were among 22 revelers arrested and charged at the Lamu courts for breaching curfew law on Monday. The six were arrested on Saturday at the famous floating bar in Shella Island. The 22 were charged with two counts of being drunk and disorderly where the court heard that on the said date, the accused persons were shouting and staggering before they were arrested.
Several youths were arrested on Thursday 20th November 2014 night in Mombasa when they tried to break into a mosque that was shut by authorities earlier in the week. Youths wearing army fatigues went on a killing spree, leaving four people dead. The bodies were taken to the Coast General Hospital. In one incident, a pastor who was waiting at a bus stop with four women was accosted by the youths and chopped with machetes. He was cut at the back of the head and hands. He died on the spot. A secondary school student killed in Simultaneous early morning police raids on two controversial mosques in Mombasa. Police recovered weapons, including grenades and pistols. 251 other suspects were arrested and police claim that among them 24 had recently returned from terror training in Somalia.
Police are investigating the execution of two cousins and the attempted murder of a third, which left him with serious gunshot wounds. The three were carjacked by unknown people who drove them to a secluded waterfall along Nairobi River where they carried out the execution. The attackers then set the cousins' vehicle on fire without stealing anything.
Two police officers attacked by locals in a Kakamega village. The two officers had gone to demand for a kick back from an illicit brew chang'aa seller at night when the locals attacked them, mistaking them for cattle thiefs since two other officers had already collected the "pay". Tensions are high as police are conducting searches for the lost arms taken from the slain officers. Some villagers have already fled from their homes.
